In Leaf
This has been a busy couple of days for me. My new pattern, In Leaf, came out in Knitty and I’ve been working away furiously on some new designs.
By the way if you’re here from Knitty, thanks for stopping by. And do stick around – I often offer my designs as freebies first on my blog before posting them for sale. Plus I’m pretty fabulous, I think.
On the needles is still my sideways cable cardigan, Winterfell.
It’s amazing how fast this thing is growing. That’s the thing about worsted weight sweaters. The sleeves just need cuffs and the body is finished to the waist. Sweet!
The Details
Yarn: Rowan Purelife Organic Wool 137 yards (125 meters)/ 50gs.
This yarn is sadly discontinued. Good thing I have another couple sweaters worth of it! Also it’s apparently a DK weight and not a worsted – guess that says something about what I usually knit.
Needles: Knitpicks 4.0mm
Pattern: my own – all written up and just waiting for a sample.
Unfortunately I haven’t been able to do a lot of reading this week – I’ve been sewing and working on knitting things that needed all of my visual focus. I have, however, discovered (rediscovered?) the joy of audiobooks. I’m listening to an old favourite – The Lord of the Rings by J.R.R. Tolkien. I’m really digging the reader – he has a BBC voice most of the time but does really charming voices and accents for many of the characters. Great for sewing and knitting.

Love the cardigans.. Nice to know i am not the only one who is doing more than one thing at a time.
Thanks! I love my multitasking.
Yes you are fabulous! Do you have any top down sweaters?
Sansa’s Summer is written top down. It has directions for both a vest and a cardigan. Thanks for agreeing with me that I’m fabulous.
Oh hello! I came here via the Yarn Along but only yesterday I posted a link to your lovely pattern on my facebook page – I think it’s fab and it’s been added to my (loooooooooong) queue! Lovely stuff.
x
Glad to hear that you like my sweater. I love looking at all the fun things that pop up on the Yarn Along – hopefully I’ll see your version of my sweater. Though I’m willing to wait a while – I totally get what you mean by the loooooooong queue. *looks askance at project pile*
I love the colour of your cardy!
Thanks – it is a pretty colour!
Congratulations on your Knitty triumph! Beautifully done. And I stand by last week’s comment: Those sideways cables are stunning (also, fabulous!). I guess I’ll have to blog stalk you to see how it turns out. Cheers!
Thanks so much! The sideways cables are so addictive. I thought about adding more to the sweater but I thought that would be too much. I’m glad to hear you are blog stalking me – I just checked out your blog. Perhaps a little mutual stalking?
I love your cardis they are so cute XD
Thank you for the lovely compliment.
Anyone with the nerve to announce her fabulousness, is, undoubtedly, FABULOUS.
Congrats on the publication of your pattern. I look forward to seeing more from you!
Hello! I did find you through Knitty, added you to my blog reader, and checked out your past posts. Looking forward to seeing more!
Thank you. It’s always nice to hear that people are interested in what I do.
Holy Horse! That’s YOUR pattern on Knitty?!
I really loved that pattern and wouldn’t mind making it for myself at some point. Nice job! I found you through the weekly Yarn Along.
Congrats on your publication!
And yes, a well done audiobook is a thing of joy- especially when you are really trying hard to finish a knitted something
aren’t you a little bit of sunshine! beautiful patterns, and ‘in leaf’ is looking especially lovely on you.
Pretty patterns. I’m a bit too chunky to knit sweaters in worsted; I’d love to see similar styles in DK.
I found your blog via Knitty. Love the beautiful In Leaf pattern. This is certainly going on my list. I, also, love audiobooks, in fact I am addicted. Glad to find both the inspiration of your knitting and your blog.
Thanks so much for the compliment!
